The President on Thursday ,February 13, 2025 with immediate effect suspended Madam Emma Metieh- Glassco pending further investigation into allegations of Managerial and financial inefficiencies consistent with section 3.9.2 of the act that established the National Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority (NaFAA). The President also referenced a communication from the office of the Ombudsman which recommended Mrs. Glassco's suspension and investigation based on allegation of insulting behavior and conduct unbecoming of a Public Official . Following Presidential Boakai 's appointment of Cyrus Saygbe as Acting Director General of NaFAA on March 14, 2025 , Mrs. Glassco in a write up on her official Facebook page made claims of political conspiracy, lack of investigation, complete disservice to her contribution and dismissal without cause. The suspended Director General Madam Glassco on March 24,2025 also filed a Lawsuit at the Ecowas Community Court claiming " Unlawful suspension , violation of tenure protection, reputational harm, emotional distress, and public humiliation". Madam Glassco is asking the court to award her USD$ 175,000 in damages for lost salaries and benefits for the remainder of her tenure, USD$5,000,000 in compensation for professional and psychological damage , and USD$ 10,000,000 in restitution for reputational harm ,emotional distress and public humiliation. Madam Glassco is also demanding the Court to order the removal of all government-issued publications alleging financial misconduct against her, and public apology from the Government to be publish in national newspapers , air on radios, televisions plus all legal expenses in the amount of USD $250,000.
