Nature of Case

On January 19, 2026, the Liberia Investigative Newspaper published on its digital media platform that the Liberia Football Association had suspended three officials from the Margibi County Soccer Team on allegations of match–fixing in the quarterfinal soccer game against Grand Kru County, in the 2025/2026 National County Sport Meet (NCSM). Furthermore, the report revealed that James stated in an interview on the Kata Radio Station that he and his teammates received US$300 from officials of Grand Kru County on the agreement that his team (Grand Kru County) should play the game to a goalless draw to eliminate both Grand Bassa and Montserrado County from the Tournament.
