On February 16, 2026, the New Dawn Newspaper reported that Superintendent Henry B. Cole presented 2024/2025 County Development report to citizens of the county. The New Dawn Newspaper media publication revealed citizens–actions to allegations of financial mismanagement, inaccurate reporting, and a lack of transparency in the 2024/2025 County Development Fund report of Maryland County.
Additionally, the publication also revealed that Citizens of Maryland County called for urgent national government intervention and a comprehensive audit of the county’s 2025 County Development Fund (CDF) on ground that projects listed and completed in the report, remains unfinished.
Furthermore, the publication highlights eminent citizens including, Gbloken General Town Chief, Adam Taylor, Pleebo Sodoken Statutory District, Assistant District Superintendent for Development, Emmanuel Quire, Maryland County Council Chair, Thomas Mawolo, testimonies:
“About two weeks ago, I heard on the radio that the project was finished, that news is a lie. Children in the community continue to attend classes in a makeshift palava hut because a permanent school building has not yet been constructed.”– Town Chief Adam Taylor.
“The report does not reflect the realities on the ground. How can you say the project is completed when I personally visited the site this week, and nothing has been done?”–Thomas Mawolo.
The report was not shared with the County Council before publication, limiting the council’s ability to provide oversight or corrective feedback”– Thomas Mawolo.
